Office Automation/DDP Cell

Office Automation:

An Integrated Office Automation System for automating various items of work, starting from dak/diary to issue of cheques and the post payment activity of cheque linking etc. has been implemented in this Office and the System consists of the following modules :-

  1. Stores Section Module : Computerisation of payment of contractor's bill for supplies/services and also Miscellaneous bills.

  2. T Section Module : Computerisation of personal claims received in 'T' section

  3. Pay/Medical Module: Computerisation of Pay bill processing including Medical claims for R&D Labs/Establishments.

  4. Record Section Module: Computerisation of Dak/Diary and marking of disposal in respect of Bills, Advances, Special/DO letters, telegrams, valuables etc.

  5. Cheque Linking Module: A comprehensive Cheque linking package for use in Accounts Section.

  6. LCH Module: Online Booking of Expenditure/generation of Monthly Expenditure Report in respect of R&D Labs/Establishments.

The system has been developed in-house by DAD employees and Software has been designed for distributed applications for implementation under client-server network environment. It is the first on-line system of the department wherein processing is to be done by staff/officers themselves. The role of OA Cell personnel is limited to system administration and database/software maintenance. The system is quite user friendly and requires only a basic knowledge of using personal computers. Audit checks to be carried out on the bills has not been distrurbed. Authentication of documents at various levels as laid down in manuals has been kept intact. Wherever required, care has been taken not to pass a bill/advance without proper budget allotment available by way of validation checks.

In accordance with the expansion policy of Hqrs Office in respect of DDP Centres, this office has formulated an exclusive DDP Centre with effect from September, 2005 with the following functions:
